I don't want to give her the wrong advbice

baby 2 weeks old

not opoening mouth wide enough to feed, not settling after feeds.

mate has given her the odd bottle just to try to get some rest and she is settling after that

(I know, I know, but she's desperate)

What is the best advice i can give her?

I know it's cheeky, but if someone could email me some good advice [email protected] then I can receive it at work on my phone and text her (or ring her lunchtime) as I can't access MN at work

PLEASE help! Thakns in advance

(oh and if you see this message, please keep bumped!)

If you are checking this now mamag - make sure they have checked her baby for tongue tie. It can easily be missed and it could be that the baby is not getting enough milk which could cause the not settling.

The other thing might be to see a breast feeding councillor - I had an NCT one who came to my house with dd. She really helped me get feeding sorted. There's so much more to it than just 'put them near the boob and they'll know what to do' isn't there?!

Have emailed you but in case your account doesn't like my email here is what I sent you:

Get hold of BF counsellor NOW!!

She could try the laid back feeding approach, apparently very useful and successful, various links:
