Hope this is posted in the right place, am a newbie so please be gentle

My 21 week old DD has suddenly started being really unsettled in the evening, she goes down about 7pm but then I'm usually up and down between then and 11pm because she's waking, all happy smiles and wanting to chat but previously she's been sleeping through 7pm - 7-9am for weeks, so you can imagine this is a shock to the system!

My question is, I know they have a growth spurt at around this time and I'm wondering if she's just hungry. She currently takes 4 x 8-9oz feeds a day (and often cries when they're done!), she's a healthy 16lb so no real weight gain issues now but I'm concious I don't want to overfeed her with a 5th feed of the day if it's too much.

If it was offered, she would take it. Unfortuantely she's a bit like me and has no 'off' switch when it comes to food!!!

Any and all advice greatly received.

You could try just giving her 4 oz at around 10-10.30 to prevent her fully waking?

I still give my dd (7 months) a dream feed at 10pm and she wolfs it down. She's on 3 solid feeds a day too

I'm pretty sure that at 21 weeks they need up to 1000-1200ml of formula which is about 33-40oz so it's possible she's not getting enough.

Heya Ja, welcome to MN

From my hazy recollection (of all of 3.10 yrs ago ) I was still doings 5/6 feeds per day at that age, and at a much lower lever - ie 5/6 oz feeds per day.

Could you maybe fit one more feed in per day? 21 wks is still pretty young to be going through the night wihtout a feed (imo, but other may disagree)

Thanks kindly for the advice. I guess I've been spoiled by her going through the night from about 8-10 weeks without a night time feed.

Will try an extra bit early evening and see how we go. I did try reducing the amount on each feed and giving it to her more often but the fuss that she created was no-one's business!
