Please advise - BF 6m DD refusing bottle!

I wasn't well at all last night with vomiting bug and felt completely unable to BF my ebf nearly 6m DD. For the first time since she was 2 weeks old (she had the odd bottle of ebm in the first couple of weeks) my husband tried to give her a bottle and she went bonkers and wouldn't take it at all. I ended up having to grit my teeth and feed her, fortunately she wasn't on for long. I'm fine now and can feed her again, but am worried as she will be starting nursery at 9 months and will need to take a bottle.

I'm wondering if she could graduate straight to a sippy cup at 9months, and get her milk at nursery from that?

Any advice v welcome!

DD has never taken a bottle even when I tried to sneak one in during a dream feed! I'd say a sippy cup is your best option and may be beneficial in the long run as she'll learn how to use cups more quickly.

DD is now 10 months and even though it has been a struggle at times as I've 2 dhad to be on hand 24/7 for feeds it has not been an issue she won't take a bottle. She's due to start nursery 2 days a week and now only has a BF morning and evening so milk feeds are not an issue.

Hope this helps

All children are different. I remember being in the same situation as you when my DS was 7 mo and I had a vomiting bug.... DS never ever took a bottle, despite every attempt (I even went out for the day, leaky boobs and all, and left DH to try and bottle feed him). I just think DS was and is very stubborn. Anyhow, he went stright from me to a sippy cup during the day when he started nursery at about 9 months old. He had a sippy cup during the day and I still BF him first thing in the morning and last thing at night.

HTH.
