Hi everyone
I have breastfed my baby for six months and for a number of reasons have made the decision to switch to formula. Now the decision has been made I haven't a clue how much formula should be given to my six month old and whether I should regulate the frequency of feeds or feed my baby when she demands it (as up until now she has been BF on demand)
also, as I am baby led weaning and baby not eating much at the mo, do I need to give vitamin drops?
grateful for advice
x

Hi, I did similar with both DS and switched at 6 months. I started by doing a 9oz bottle for am ,lunch, bedtime & about 10pm. As both were terrible sleepers I did give them a 4oz bottle when they woke at night, but this ended up as just a comfort bottle so stopped it. As they were starting solids about the same time, there was also a lot of food being tried out. Just like with breastfeeding on demand, formula is a bit the same. There were times mine would only drink 4oz, sometimes I'd make up another 9oz and they'd drink. It's a bit of trial and error!
