Advice on mixed feeding at 5.5 months?

Hi, DS is 23 weeks and has been excl BF apart from the odd bottle of formula.

I need to go back to work in August and would like to give him formula during his two day feeds at 11am and 2.30pm and continue to BF for the first feed (about 7am), in the evening (6pm) and the dream feed at 11pm (until he no longer needs it).

I realise there are threads on mixed feeding but could not find quite what I was looking for - which is advice on how gradually I need to replace the BF with formula and to hear if this has been done successfully by other Mums - I do feel a bit guilty about not expressing but I found it such hard work and my workplace just isn't geared up for it.

Thanks!

Just drop one feed for next month then drop the other a month before going back to work. I would drop the 11am one first as in my experience that will be the one dropped quite soon into weaning. Eventually, he will only need formula mid afternoon then probably just the 2 breast feeds from about a year (my daughter isn't there yet so I am not sure). I dropped feeds in the day about the same time with no effect on my milk supply. Good luck!

Thanks! That's really helpful. I planned to drop the 11am one first, so glad I'm on the right track.
