Breastfeeding and Diazapam

I have to take 2 x 2mg of Diazapam next Monday for some dental work I am having done. My DS is nearly 11 months old, and I am still feeding him twice a day (morning and night). I looked on Kellymom, and it advised not to take Diazapam whilst bfeeding, but the dentist has refused to do the treatment without. So where do I stand with feeding DS? I have spoken to a pharmacist who didnt sound very sure at all so told me I couldn't feed DS for 7 days after having it. I have also spoke to my GP who rang the medicines department at the hospital, and has told me not to feed him for 24 hours. So I am really confused? Can anyone help me??

p.s. I wont be able to pick up any replies until tomorrow, so I haven't disappeared! TIA!

I think for a one-off, with an older baby, I wouldn't worry about it.

This page includes a case of a woman who was on 610mg daily (!! surely a typo?) and whose baby was ok.

Hale apparently says that if you don't feed for 24 hours after your last dose, no valium at all will get to the baby. Other pages have said waiting 8 hours after the feed will vastly reduce how much goes through. 2mg isn't much valium, I don't think.

If you were taking Valium every day, I think I would have a different answer.
