Okay I am new to bottle feeding. How does every body prepare bottles? Do you prepare as and when your baby needs it ? Or do you prepare in the morning and store in the fridge? What about night feeds?

My aunty has suggested I just make them all in the morning and then all I have to do is put them in the fridge, then warm when neccesary. But reading up on it says you should ALWAYS make it when your baby needs it.

Night feeds i'm thinking to take a flask of hot water up with me and formula ready to make... so its fresh, there and then.

Also, does anybody use bottle warmers? If so which one would you reccommend?

Help! I would be so grateful for all replies!!!!

Hi, current guidelines say make up when needed. Many Mums do make and put in fridge this was the norm until recently.
I think they changed the advice because many Mums did not cool the milk and refrigerate quickly enough. You can purchase small cups anywhere you can buy bottles that fit inside the bottle, and can be sterilised with the bottle. This contains the measured milk so when ready you just tip it into the water in the bottle. if you do this before bed the boiling water in the bottle willprobably have cooled enough to use without any cooling or warming. personally I found warmers too slow and just used a cup of water to take the chill off. I wouldn't use a flask as it is not sterile.
