Suddenly really sore!

I'm 4 weeks today into BF and thought I was over the worst - more or less sorted out attachment and nipples feeling a lot better. Today though my boods are in agony! Feel really hard and sore - especially one side. Feel a bit lumpy on that side as well. I thought this is what they were supposed to be like at the beginning when my milk came in but they were fine then - just got bigger.

Is it a sudden increase in milk or something? Baby has been very cranky and feeding loads over the last 24 hours.

I'm paranoid that I'm getting blocked ducts and will get mastitus? Is there something I should be doing?

Ok - have looked at some other threads and think I probably have a blocked duct on one side.

Think my nursing bras are a bit small - the painful boob is also the biggest! I have taken my bra off and am feeding from that side. Is that the right thing to do? Anything else I can try?

Arrggghh - I just want BF to get easier now like everyone tells me it will!!

Sounds like you say like a blocked duct. I had a bra that always caused problems so good to get re-measured.
Keep feeding especially off this side. I often found heat helped like a hot water bottle or warm shower. I would also massage over the duct to encourage it to unblock and would also do this whilst my DS was feeding.
Take paracetamol for the pain. Fingers crossed in next few days it will feel more back to normal
