When to give up formula milk?

Hi

My DD is nearly 12 months old and at the moment is having two 7oz bottles of formula a day - morning and at bedtime (She also has yoghurt and milk on her cereal so I think she is getting about the 21 oz she is supposed to get).

She has a some sort of milk allergy which causes minor eczema. So she has soya yoghurt rather than cow's milk yoghurt, and her bottles are half Wysoy and half Hipp Organic follow on milk (we have to do half and half as she doesn't like Wysoy on its own!)

Do you think we could stop buying formula and just move on to giving her soya milk mixed with cows milk twice a day.

I'm conscious its time to be moving her off the bottles too.

Thanks

When I weaned my dd2 at 12 months, she had no milk whatsoever for a while. She did have some dairy in her diet (it is v hard to avoid altogether) in yogurt, cheese etc.

Now she is 13, taller than me, mouth full of perfect teeth, hardly ever ill, taking GCSE in one subject early this term. In other words, nothing wrong with her mentally or physically.

I don't know where you get this 21 oz minimum idea from, but I certainly never worried about their milk intake after 12 months, and before that I was bf so didn't know how much they were getting anyway.
