Lazy latch and floppy boobs

Sorry ladies, yet another random question (2 in fact)

  1. DD can latch on beautifully, but she has now developed a habit of latching on properly and then letting her lips slide down until she is more on the nipple. How can I stop her doing this? I have tried holding her to me more firmly but she just yowls. FWIW this feeding, whilst uncomfortable, is not painful and does not seem to be doing damage - am tempted to just ignore?

  2. We sometimes struggle to get latched on to a floppy boob - floppy as in she's been snacking for the last two hours and the whole areola area has no substance. She tries to latch on but either slides off, or spits nipple out. We usually get there eventually but only after a lot of frustration. Any advice?

Are you supporting underneath the breast with your hand (left hand under right breast or vice versa)?

Do you ever feed lying down on your side? Baby feeds from breast in contact with the bed.

I'll try that - I usually use my free hand for mumsnetting
