making babys bottles

hi do you make babys bottles one at a time or lots and cool em to go in the frigde when cold ,for one days feed

there are loads of threads on this if you do a search .. you are advised, and this has been the advice for almost 3 years or so, to make up each feed individually with freshly boiled water cooled for not more than 30 minutes.. the formula powder is not sterile and can, rarely, but can give a baby a very nasty bug, the water has to be hot enough to destroy any nasties in teh powder

if this is a real PITA , you should use ready made cartons

there has been much advice given about making up feeds safely when out and about too

its just that we have had the midwife today barking the does and donts

Why, what did the midwife say?

and what did she tell you?

there are safer than other ways to make up bottles

only make one bottle at a time etc , she went on about cross contamination as both my gs was at my house ,my dds baby was asleep in her pram so i told my sons gf to put her baby in the moses basket and the midwife went ooh no dont do that etc and she put her finger in his mouth how do i know her hands was clean

Eh?? She said you shouldn't put one baby in another's Moses basket?

(Also confused what this has to do with making up bottles...)

we make up the bottles with boiled water in and then add in the powder when its feed time. never had a prob. we keep them in the fridge then warm them up when needed butr i have friends who made up bottles and kept on the counter then added powder.

her advice re one bottle at a time was good, but the rest sounds bonkers...
