After ds I remember losing the initial weight but holding on to about a stone. I tried dieting healthily by cutting any junk and replacing with fruit. I also did a lot of exercise from about 6months. However I couldn't lose the weight but when my period came back I lost the weight easily.

DD is 9months feeling quite depressed over carrying the extra stone and have been healthy eating and exercising since 6months. But I then thought about last time and my weight literally dropped off when my periods started back.

So what I wanna know is did you find it easier to lose weight when you got your periods back.

I hadn't really thought about it, but now you mention it - I think I've been losing a bit without changing what I eat since it came back 3 months or so ago. DD is 18 months now

So maybe there is something in it

Sorry slushy once I started bf DS less (and got my periods back, at 15 months postnatal)I gained weight, but I was very thin when bf lots so a bit gained is ok. Although it was great being able to eat cakes with impunity!

My DS was 2 last week, and i'm STILL hanging on to that last stone
he's still bf and my periods returned at about 6mths, but i actually gained weight with their return

however - breastfeeding support peer hat on now - when we breastfeed, our joints are still experiencing pregnancy type hormones, so maybe you are back to where you were before, but that needs a little toning, the the homones aren't letting you do as effectively.....

I'm not 100% though, and I don't think anyone really is. Just my theory.

I stopped losing weight when my periods came back when DD was 5 months, up until that point it had been coming off quite easily. Maintained my weight until she was 9 months as I fell pregnant then. Hopefully will start losing again in a few weeks once baby is born and i'll be tandem feeding then.

I put weight on after getting my periods back after DS1. DS2 is going to be breastfed forever

I still have weight to lose (dd was three this week) lots of friends have said that it doesn't shift until you stop breastfeeding-I'm hoping!

Thanks ladies for taking away my silver lining I know the witch is on her way was hoping for a bright side. Never mind what's a stone in exchange for the drunken smile as dd detaches looking completely satisfied .
