Could mixed feeding be causing posseting?

My ds (now 5 months) has had at least one bottle a day and breast fed the rest of the time. He has posseted a lot since birth and someone recently suggested to me that mixed feeding might be the cause. Has anyone heard anything to support this as this has never occured to me as a reason before.

I would have thought that a touch of reflux was a possible likely cause of the posseting. I have had experience of mixed feeding (I have b/f my 3 sons but at different stages also mixed fed) but do not recall a link with increased posseting.

I am sure others may be able to offer more suggestions and I hope you are able to find an answer.

My first baby possetted a lot and he was excusively breastfed. I think it is just down to the type of stomach and sphinter your baby had rather than to what is in it IYKWIM.

Mog, my dd was breast fed for 3 months and then mixed until 5 months. She did posset a lot but I really don't think it was the mixed feeding as she did it from birth. I remember the H/V said that it would get better once she started to sit up and sure enough it did. From about 5.5 months we used to sit her up well propped with cushions etc and I seem to remember the posseting got much better from that point.
