Just expressed for the first time?? Does this sound about right? Will it be enough for DH to give as a feed this evening??

How old is your LO? How long does he/she usually feed for?

When I expressed I usually only ever got 4oz max at a time, but I know some people who got nothing and some people who got 8oz so it really varies.

DS is 8 weeks. Feeding times vary from 10mins to 30 mins. Just want to get him used to a bottle so have got the option of using one in the future

If that's the case then I would get your DH to give the bottle and then offer DS the boob afterwards to make sure he's had enough.

If he's not bothered then you know 4oz is about right, if he is still hungry then you know he needs a bit more than that.

I used to pump after the first morning feed from whichever side DS took less from and freeze it. I would then give DS a bottle every 2 or 3 days in the evening as I could never get enough in one day for a whole bottle.
