hi,

Dd (24 weeks) had a cold earlier this week and now I have it, but it seems a lot stronger and I am also a chronic asthmatic. I have doubled up my inhalers and tried basic paracetamol but it didn't touch it so last night I had some max strength cold and flu capsules...

Dd is bf, with one baby porridge a day and we try and give 1 formula feed too (dh while I am at work) although the most formula she'll take is 20-30ml...

The leaflet in the capsules pack says 'do not take when pregnant or breastfeeding unless your doctor tells you to'.... Does this mean that actually its ok to take if needed?

I took some at about 10pm and dd next fed at 2, I then took some more and she fed again at about half 4, then she woke at half seven and fed so I took some more after she fed... Do you think this is ok?

I don't think that it will affect her, it's more that it can dry up the milk if it contains a decongestant.

I would wait and see, hopefully it won't have any effect at this stage. If it does I hope someone else on here will have advice

Also just a minor point, but you say you took one at half 4 and another at half 7, it should really be 4 hours between them, especially if they are max strength ones. I did this once by accident and it made me quite sick.

hi, thanks.

No, dd fed at 4 and half seven, I had taken some at 2, none at 4 but then some more at half seven...

I really wish someone would discover a cure for the cold!
