Is it the night feeds which stop your periods?

DD is coming to the end of her night feeds - we are down to just one now and it is getting shorter

can i therefore expect my periods to return?

it has been lovely not having them for so long

DD is 7 months BTW

TIA

no. well, for some people it is, but not all

my periods returned at 7 weeks pp with ds1 and ds2 and 12 weeks pp with ds3 i was still feeding all of them very regularly, inc at night!
in fact, ds2 was feeding every 45mins-1hr day and night

No, not necessarily. I think it's probably around the point where they drop to feeding fewer times in a day than they eat, just because most people who feed on demand until the end get them back at 14-18 months, and most people who breastfeed to around 1 year but start dropping feeds on purpose when weaning is established tend to get them back around 8-10 months.

Or when you introduce a regular bottle they can come back

Or for some women, it seems to be completely randoim

I stopped feeding DS when he was 7mo and my periods returned after the last couple of feeds I done with him at that point. Long time to not have a period but wasn't complaining at the time!

My periods returned both times once I'd stopped the night feeds. They were both over a year old.

For me the amount in the day made no difference, it was the night feeds that affected my periods.
