Hi,

I currantly bf my 9 month old dd twice a day. It is obvious that my right boob is a good cup bigger than my left (which has now shrunk back to the origional size). It is always my right one that fills first iyswim.

Has anyone had this? will it go back to normal when I stop feeding her? Should I not use it for a while and use mostly right?

It sounds like the supply in your left boob has reduced - do you tend to use the right one first? I reckon if you focus on using your left boob for a while it might stimulate the supply and your boob might get bigger? Worth a go.

Good luck

from about two months my little girl started to favour my right side and at 7 months she still does. she barely feeds from the left. the right is a good one or two cup sizes bigger. I have no idea if it will sort itself when i stop.

at the breast feeding group i go to I was talking to three women the other day whos babies all had a one boob habit.

DS rarely feeds from my right side and DD was exactly the same. My left side just does not produce as much. If I express, I can get 6-7 ozs from my left and less than 1oz from my right. My boobs are very different sizes atm but they went back to being the same size when I stopped feeding DD and I'm hoping they'll do the same this time

My son always preferred my left. I didn't BF for long enough to find out if this was true, but a health visitor suggested starting very briefly on the favoured side, then moving him across so he was in the same position but on the other breast, almost 'fooling' him in thinking he was on his preferred side.

Of course this might only work with new babies.

Mine are different sizes 7 months after stopping feeding but that might be to do with the abscess surgery rather than the feeding itself.

thanks guys- I have been using the right side more today and not too much has changed- will keep trying though- I suppose I can just wait until I have a second child and get them to 'favour' the other side to even things out.
