Nurofen?

Can I take some Nurofen when breastfeeding (dd 16days old)? I've got a cracking headache which I've had for days and paracetamol not touching it. I've done a google search but it seems inconclusive.

Thanks

Yes you can have ibuprofen, info on here - see analgesi/painkillers pdf. It's a handy link for future ref as well.

Generally it is considered safe in breastfeeding, I took it after CS too.

I agree. I was told by the paedeatrician and my doctor (the registrar?) in hospital that it was fine. They both contradicted the locum midwife who said it wasn't allowed - and told her that that was very outdated advice.

Was very happy. Paracetamol did nothing for the pain of my stiches!
