Lack of leaks??

A bit of a random query, but it's weighing on my mind.

My DS is 9 weeks old, is bf and all is going fine with him.

However, during my pregnancy I didn't leak at all, and since I've had him I have leaked about 5 drops from each breast in total!

This is handy for me - don't need to worry about breast pads

Sometimes if there's a long gap between feeds, such as during the night, I will feel 'full up', but generally my boobs are the same as they've always been.

Does this mean there's something wrong with my supply?

Has anyone else never leaked?

No need to worry one tiny moment!

Leaking is not inevitable. Some people leak, some people leak a lot, some people leak a little, some people leak not at all.

Your baby does not care one jot

crikeybadger · 01/05/2010 21:00

No, never leaked either!

Just means I save myself some money on not having to buy breast pads!

preggersplayspop · 01/05/2010 21:04

I never leaked for my first. tbh I wondered what the hell breast pads were for.

Leaked a bit for my second, but I put that down to tandem feeding so supply probably higher than it would be normally. Still not enough to merit breast pads and only really happened at night. Its stopped now my supply has fully adjusted (ds2 now 5 months)

WorzselMummage · 01/05/2010 21:11

No leaks here either. Not one drop in 17 months

baskingseals · 01/05/2010 21:11

are your boobs quite generous?
think it might be something to do with storage space
i never leaked either

WorzselMummage · 01/05/2010 21:14

Lol more than a handfull

jaggythistle · 01/05/2010 21:15

I leaked a tiny bit at first but none since DS was a few weeks old.

I used my pointless store of breast pads to stop Lansinoh getting all over the place!

PacificDogwood · 01/05/2010 21:16

TLC, hi, nice to 'see' you

No, no leaks here either; also soft boobs most of the time (36 F)...

withorwithoutyou · 01/05/2010 21:17

Another non-leaker here either.

Was very glad of that too, it's enough of a faff having to sort out nursing bras, vest straps tops etc without trying to find somewhere to put your breast pad I reckon.

BertieBotts · 01/05/2010 21:18

I never really leaked either and I am small in the nork department - think it's just random.

I always feel a bit bemused when I read about women hearing other babies cry in the supermarket and suddenly sporting two fountains in sympathy, because I never had that either - maybe my boobs were good listeners

TakeLovingChances · 01/05/2010 21:22

Thanks for all the replies, good to know I'm not the only one!

baskingseals I don't usually give my bra measurements to strangers, but since you asked so nicely I'll tell you I'm currently a 36DD, before I got pregnant I was a 34D.

I bought the 'new mother essential product' which is breastpads just before DS was born and they are unused. Going to give them to a friend who is due in the summer.

I never leaked either, to speak of. And there is nothing short in my supply.

tiktok, nice to see you on a thread again, have you been away a while?

tiktok · 02/05/2010 09:17

Lexilicious - no, still around, still posting

MissusRabbit · 02/05/2010 09:20

I'm very very jealous - i live in bras and breastpads day and night

picc · 02/05/2010 09:31

Didn't leak either
used breast pads to protect my poor chapped, bleeding nipples from rubbing against clothing too much
(but have only just stopped BF DS at 14 months and only cos I'm pregnant)

In the end I felt lucky, really. Friends seemed to be living in a constant pool of milk and other such liquids!....

Morloth · 02/05/2010 10:53

I leaked like mad while pregnant but only ever a teeny bit from the opposite boob while feeding.

I get a zinging feeling sometimes as thy fill up, but no leaks.

With DS1 there was milk EVERYWHERE!

36GG's here, I think it is totally random.

willowstar · 02/05/2010 19:18

never leaked here either, also have a couple of boxes of redundant breast pads that I was told were essential items when I was pregnant.
