To give 10pm feed or not??

I put DS2 (8 weeks old) to bed with a feed at 6.30pm then Am feeding him at 10pm as many people suggest and he then wakes up at 2am, 5am and 7-8am for feeds. But I have now started to wonder if this is conditioning him to carry on waking up every 3-4 hours during the night too? DS1 started sleeping through at 9 weeks, he started doing long stints of 9 hours (feed at 6.30pm then would wake at 3.30am for next feed) I then started giving him 10 pm feed which took him through to 6/7am). DS2 looks nowhere near sleeping through so was wondering about this 10pm feed theory.
P.S. Sorry for the ramblings...

i used to give my ds a feed at 6.30pm and then one at 10.30pmish and he then slept right through until 6/7am. it meant that i got to go to bed at 11pmish and have a good night's sleep which made it easier when i returned to work.

The dream feed thing hasn't worked with either of my 2. With DS he would hardly take a thing then wake again at about midnight having changed his mind. He would then wake again at about 3 and then again at 5. If we left him to it he generally only woke twice between 7ish and 6ish. With DD it means she might only wake once at about 3ish but then wakes between 5 and 6 which isn't appealing. I prefer a big midnight or so feed then 5 minuter at 4ish which keeps her going till about 7.

In short do what works for you!
