Help, blocked duct not seeming to clear.

DD is almost 8 months and ususally has 4 feeds a day, taking 1 breast each time, at @ 6am, 11am, 3pm and 7pm.

For the past couple of days she hasn't really fed well at the 11am time and this has resulted in some blocked ducts in one of my breasts- her least favourite one to boot. I fed from this one last night and agin this morning but it's not 'clearing' it (though there is less pain this morning). The clocked ducts are near my arm so it is really hurting to move that and it's making me feel rotten. I feel a bit zonked but not 'fluey' but am really worried it could turn into mastitis, can't get to the docs today as DH is away with the car.

I've taken some paracetamol and have done the hot shower thing and tried massage, also tried to express a little with a pump but know that's not nearly as effective as her suck, anything else to help it? Will it just take time? I will have to offer the normal breast next otherwise that will explode as it should have been that one first this morning.

I've had blocked ducts before with my other children but they have never lasted this long, and have happened much earlier than this.

replace lunch with a bf?
have you fed on all fours?
that helps!

Thanks, I did wonder if a different position would draw on different ducts first, off to soft play though so might get some strange looks!

The pain hasn't got as bad as last night though so far but it's still a bit Yikes!
