8 week old sleep help - possible wind problem

Really need some help please. My daughter is 8 weeks old, fully b/f. She is very chilled during the day, feeds 2 hourly and sleeps well in the day.

Come bedtime, we swaddle her and she sleeps soundly from 8-12. Then all hell seems to break loose, I feed her (give infacol before and gripe water after) and she is just so unsettled. She will sleep for 20 mins and then wake up writhing around, and this is the pattern until about 5am, when she seems to fall back to sleep, still moan abit but can settle herself. During 12-5am time I am up and down, shushing, patting, rocking, she seems fast asleep and then wakes up so uncomfortable. I 'think' it is a wind problem, I am burping her after a feed and all the back rubbing she does eventually do a trump/poo.

I am just so so so tired, I also have a 2 year old boy so am getting no chance to nap in the day.

Can anyone offer any words of wisdom or advice? I feel so down, I should be enjoying my daughter I feel too tired too.

Thanks

I found raising the head end of DS's crib (with a phone directory!), helped with his night time writhing. So his head was raised. I think the theory behind this, is it uses gravity to help milk go down.

Hope this helps!

When she wakes at midnight, feed her and then lie down on your back, propped up a bit so not horizontal, and let her sleep on you. If she wants to sleep belly down, this is not dangerous as belly-down sleeping is in the cot. At night too much burping of baby can wake them up sometimes. Once she goes to sleep you may then be able to put her down and go back to your own bed. Good luck.
