I was on holiday last week and got my boobs muddled up (!) or more accurately - stopped paying attention to which one was last.

My DD is 8 months old and has three feeds a day when we're busy, more when we're at home and she fancies it.

Anyway - woke up with vast lump in my left boob. Much pain and feeding later, including a long sleepy feed, I was left with a boob which was very empty except for the blockage, which with much massaging / feeding from that side I managed to clear by the end of the day.

That was on Thursday... but feeding from that boob is now painful in a way it wasn't before. It's the nipple mostly, it's sore, with occasional pains in the breast itself. I must admit I've had quite an easy ride with BF so far, but this is getting me down. I've never had the whole "dreading feeding" thing, but now if it's that side first, it's not pleasant. It's not quite so bad if it's the second boob - it's all that bobbing and tugging DD does to encourage letdown.

Is this normal though? Have I just got to wait for it to get better do you think?

Sounds like a blocked milk duct, take two paracetamol, wait two hours, hot flannel, express as much as possible. Feed on that side - a lot.

Don't worry it'll pass.

I'm pretty sure the original blockage has gone... I can't feel any lumps any more. As I say, I think I cleared it by the end of Thursday. But I'm still sore...

I think this will pass, too, josie.

Thanks both x
