I am going in on Thursday(somewhat reluctantly) for my 3rd c-section. I have told DH that in the event that something goes wrong with the spinal and I need a general anaesthetic that I want him to have skin to skin with the baby until I can hold her (this shouldn't be a problem should it?) but also that I don't want her to have any formula. I just want to check that she'll be okay until I able to feed her. Is there anything I can quote to back me up with this, or will she need something sooner than I'll be able to provide it?

Thanks

It should all be fine, but if you are worried that the baby might need something before you are awake the BF, you can request that the MW help your baby to feed whilst you are still unconscious (not impossible!) or you could express some colostrum to take in with you.
