Descaling Tommee Tippee steriliser

Hi,

does anyone know how I can descale my electronic tommee tippee steriliser? Can I use normal descaler or do I have to buy special descaler specifically for sterilisers? If so, where can I buy that from?

TIA

boots and mothercare sell descaler for sterilisers

you can get tubs of citric acid from the pharmacy which do the same job and much cheaper than the sachets. You dissolve a dessertspoon of the citric acid in 200ml of water, put it in the sterliser, heat till boiling and then let sit for 30 minutes. It's brilliant. I use it for my kettle and used it for my bottle warmer when we had one.

I always just used lemon juice in mine - woked a treat!

Thanks for your responses.

I went to a big Boots and they had the descaler in stock

I was going to use citric acid but on the Tommee Tippee website they said not to use that anymore
