Breastpads

When did you stop wearing them?

DS2 is nearly 5 weeks old and I already dislike having to wear them. I wore them for 11 months with DS1, but thinking I probably didn't need to wear them that long!

Thanks

For me it will be whenever my norks stop leaking - ds is approaching 4w and I can't see it being anytime soon unfortunately .

But it doesn't feel like my pads are 'wet' any more when I change them (they used to feel heavier a week or two ago).

I guess I'll have to try without at home somewhen and see if I leak. I just wondered when others stop.

I stopped after a couple of months I think.

Do you use disposable breast pads? I found them awful, they get scrunched up and so on. If you haven't already tried them, washables are fab - I think you can get a pack of three pairs in Boots (Johnsons brand I think) - you just throw them in the wash in the special net bag that comes with them. They are really comfortable and especially useful if it's, erm, cold.

I wear them all the way through hate them, and hate wearing a bra in bed.

Do you wear them at night? You could try taking them out at night and seeing if oyu leak, less embarassing than leaking while out and about.

Also apparently lilypadz are fab.

i bf for 3 months. i HAD to wear them all the time. i'd go through 2-3 during the day and up to 10 at night!

it took another month to stop leaking milk. it was worst at mum and baby things as the sound of another baby's hungry cry would set me off - even if ds wasn't at all hungry!

sheeplikessleep · 14/04/2010 11:09

hi - yeah, i use disposables. i'll have a look at the washables and the lilypadz. i do find i have to 'jig' around with them, after feeding whilst out and about, which i'd rather not do!

i do wear them at night imsonottelling. but i wear a nursing night bra, which i've found to be comfier than normal nursing bra.
