How long does ready mix last?

How long does ready mix last once the carton is opened and it has been put into a bottle?

On the carton it says to discard after two hours, however when I was in hospital and I was given instant in glass bottles, I was told repeatedly that it lasts four hours as long as it isn't warmed up.

Does anyone know if the stuff in glass bottles is the same as the milk in the cartons?

if your lo drinks from the bottle then it should be discarded after 2 hours as bacteria will have been introduced into the milk. If you open it and put it into the bottle and it is not drunk from then it can be put in the fridge for up to 24 hours.

Thanks. So does this mean the milk in the cartons is not the same as the milk dispensed in hospital in sealed glass bottles?
