might sound silly to some of yoou, but ive toolday come down with an awful sickness bug, will it affect my baby at all? obviously he does need feedng but i do have 'emergency' expressed milk, but feeding him is the only thing that makes me feel a bit better, dp lookimg after him and bringing him to me for feeds, but if he's more likely to get poorly i will let him have expressed milk

Just keep feeding as you have been, a lot of these bugs are contagious so he will then get the benefit of your antibodies, as you will still be having contact with him. Make extra sure you don't get dehydrated though, dioralyte is the way forward

CharCharGabor · 10/04/2010 21:17

Keep on feeding! You can't pass it on through breastmilk and you'll be making antibodies which will stop him from getting it or make it milder. Hope you feel better soon, poor you!

DrivenToDistraction · 10/04/2010 21:17

Yes, he's less likely to get ill if you keep feeding him.

Yep, as others have said, have fed right through vomiting, the squits, flu, everything. Just keep on with it.

Drink clear fluids for 24 hours and you should be fine.

thanks guys wil continue as normal then and hopefully be fine after a good nights sleep!!

Was in your position 2 weeks ago. My DS( 13mths) refused to go to sleep until fed. He had had it 48 hours earlier.
Try and keep your fluids up as able.
Hope you feel better soon and your DS does not get it.
