I've just had a v unsettled night with ds2 (3 wks old) & am wondering whether it had anything to do with the chinese I had for tea yesterday. He is bf on demand.
I also bf ds1 but in my sleep deprived state can't remember if there is anything you shouldn't eat.

Hi
Don't think there is anything you "shouldn't" eat, but I found certain foods upset my baby, especially strong garlic or spicey foods... guess you just need to play it by ear and see what works for you and your baby!!

I tend to avoid similar things to when I was pregnant, particularly runny eggs. I also avoid fizzy drinks and spicey food. It must affect ds cos usually when I've had mexican he has a very different nappy to normal!

You can eat and drink what you like in moderation, as is general advice at all times.
Breastfeeding should fit in with your usual life not be something to dominate everything else. One of the reasons it is so great!

Thanks, ladies,
I think I may have to go easy on the Chinese. Fortunately we had a much better night last night. Good to know there are no hard and fast rules
