I have been trying to get my gorgeous daughter off bf during the day and wish to still feed am and night time- she has not taken well to the bottle at all- I am really quite stressed out now as she has adapted to everything else quite well- she was exclusively bf'ed for 6.5 months but I now want a break from it- I am trying to leave and let my husband try tomorrow- I have heard this is a good strategy........ any tips welcome. My nephew went from breast to cup and he was fine. He wouldn't take the bottle at all. But 6.5 months may be to early for cups not sure of recommended start age - is it 7 or 10 months? Forgotten.

But letting dad have a go sounds a great idea. They definitely do different things for/with different people.
Good luck

i have been trying now for a couple of weeks and a tip a friend gave me really helped. sit the baby facing away from you, as though they were just sitting on your lap, and feed like that. DD2 will only take a bottle like that as she doesnt instinctively root for the boob. we have just started to have some success, and i feel confident that she will not starve when i go back to work in acouple of weeks. she is 7 1/2 mo and although will take a bit of water from a cup, it was taking too long to get even a couple of ounces into her.

make sure itis plenty warm enough, when we started dd on ebm, it was obviuosly too cool.
good luck.
