I have a 7wk old and he has the problem of wind! Im breast feeding and He can bring up burps but has a really hard time passing wind in the bottom region!! I have tried all i know, different positions - over the shoulder, sitting up and patting his back, over my knee, on his tummy, lying flat and ive also tried Dentinox, gripe water, colic drops but all seem to fail to help him, any ideas or advice would be much appreciated!!

it's quite common for them to appear as though they are having trouble with this!
normally it's just a case of it feeling a bit strange and upsetting them, as they get upset they tend to tense up, which makes it harder for the wind to escape.

he'll get over it in time, so don't worry too much

I can't be of much help - but have you tried cycling his legs and massaging his tummy?

Sorry you've probably tried all of those.

Agree with the tummy massage in a clockwise direction and bringing knees up to the chest.

Have you tried cranial osteopathy?- it worked for us.

Put him in a warm bath - it will relax him and may help.
As Thisisyesterday says a lot of this is just the baby becoming tense because of the unfamiliar. And as with lots of baby things, it will improve in time (and probably quite soon at that).
