Ds is ebf and is very unsettled between 5pm and 10pm ish. What starts as a feed tends to lead to fractious sucklng that is beginnng to make me sore. Usually around 9 he settles n cot but tonight he has been rooting for comfort everytime I have put him down. Leaving no time for elder dd. Would feed all night if that's what wants but suckling is making me sore. Any ideas?

Poor you, it is no fun when your baby needs endless amounts of feeding.

It does sound like a growth spurt, when the baby nurses more for a few days to up your milk supply, it shouldn't be sore mind. Could you detach him and reattach to make sure he has a good latch.

If it is a growth spurt it should stop in a few days.

Today he has slept from 4pm to 8pm and been complete opposite. Dh says maybe just is not ready to be on any routine yet and just be prepared for each day to be different

I am a big believer in going with the flow, loads easier for you and the baby especially in the early days

How old is your baby ?

Sleeping at the breast is totally normal. Do you have a nice sling so baby can sleep at breast and you can get to eat, drink tea, go to the toilet

Yes, my DD got very bored and got into watching TV when DC2 turned up. But saying that it is noce to have a slow introduction to your new sibling.

What does your daughter think
of her new baby brother ?
