Someone has suggested that Stout ( Mackesons ) is good for breastfeeding - any thoughts ??? Is it an old wives tale ?

I had a few days where I had a glass of red wine with dinner and it did seem to calm down my mixed fed baby - he has very bad wind / colic sessions. What do people think of drinking in moderation ?

my grandma swore by mackesons, and my mother-during pregnancy and breastfeeding, hate the stuff myself. Dont know whether its an old wives tale or not, sorry.

My midwife said the odd glass of champagne was good; apparently it's got iron. And helps morale

So I suspect! But I have a cunning plan. I'll feed you beer and have my say while you are slurping it down

Sweetheart stout was said to be good for letdown. I personally believe that a little bit of alcohol can be beneficial because a calm mum begets a calm baby

Red wine!! Yes!! Some of my most cherished memories of breastfeeding ds are of watching TOTP2 (and reliving my youth) while drinking a nice big glass of red. Doesn't seem to have harmed him.. yet. And if it wasn't good for him, it was exceptionally good for me
