A few weeks ago so many posters were really positive and helpful re my chances of continuing to exclusively bf my 5 month old. My dd has finished her first week at nursery but what she decided to do was to wait until I arrived at lunch to feed her and then eat about 3 times in the evening and once in the night - effectively dropping her midmorning feed. She's now only eating abut 6 times in 24 hours whereas she was such a boob-monster before. She continued this pattern over the weekend too, eating at 8 and then hanging on til 1 - no cues, no crying or anything.

I am concerned now that she's not eating enough. Will she just be taking in more at her other feeds? Is it bad for her to go from 8 til 1pm without anything to eat? She was offered ebm but she wasn't interested...

Thanks.

The experience of others on MNet is that it's not uncommon for babies to be content to wait for their mum. But she may decide with time (and seeing others have bottles at nursery), that she will have some EBM during the day.

As long as she is happy, and is offered some fluid at regular intervals (you might want that to be water if after a couple of weeks she still refuses EBM), then it's fine.
