Hi

I have brought some vitamin pils which all say consult your HP/GP before taking if breastfeeding. DD is nearly 6 months.
Does anyone know if the following are ok?

  • multivitamins containing vitamin A
  • Cod liver oil
  • acanachia (cant spell it! that one for immune system)

Many thanks

shelletj - not too late, but you need to start a separate thread. This is milkmummy's thread

milkmummy - there is normally no reason at all why vitamins cannot be taken when bf. They are in food, after all. Cod liver oil is also a food supplement. Echinacea is a herb, not a pharmaceutical, and the OTC doses in herbal supplements are normally so small, one would not be concerned....but check with the pharmacist on this one, to make sure.
