MN netiquette on 'bumping' messages?

Hi - advice please from experieneced MNers.
When i need baby info I am using search facility to find what i need on discussion boards. Quite often i find an old thread (maybe from 07 or 08) that answers most, but not all of my questions.

On these threads, should i bump them adding my extra query? Or just start a new thread?

Thanks!

Start a new thread, IMO....old threads should be left to die, quietly

I never thought of doing that but could be annoying if they're long and I guess and people might not read all of the answers. Therefore it would seem more reasonable to start a new one if your question hasn't been answered by old threads.

Ok will start new ones - thanks!
I guess people can direct me to old threads if they think its all old hat...
