DS is 11 weeks and exclusively BF but we use a bottle of expressed once a day so DH can do a feed. He moves from breast to bottle very easily.

We use Tommee Tippee closer to nature newvborn teats on the bottles. I know you can buy faster flow teats which are supposed to be for babies over 3 months. Do I need to use these? Are they a waste of time/money? I should add that I'm a tight fisted northerner so don't like buying things unless I really need to! But I'm also not keen on DS getting used to anything that might be much faster than the boob in case it interferes with BFing So would I be better off keeping him on the slow flow teats or is there a risk he might not take as much milk as he needs from the bottle if it's more of an effort than it should be....?

if he is ok with the ones he is on there is no need to change

i think i used newborn ones the entire time with ds1

I should add that a bottle feed (5 oz) can take up to an hour (always at least 30 mins) whereas he only ever feeds 20 mins max from the boob these days. Does that suggest we should be using faster teats? Hubby doesn't mind doing the longer feed as it's the main period of time he spends with the baby each day.

No it is fine, if your DH is happy with it and the baby is happy with it (no reason why he shouldn't - he doesn't know anything else) then stick with it! As you said in your OP it seems bit of a waste as well when these teats are perfectly fine.
