Just wondering really. I bottle fed dd1 but am breast feeding dd2.

She will go 3/4 hours at night (sometimes 5 if Im lucky!) and then feed on and off all day (she doesnt sleep much in the day)

Is there any point in try to get her to go longer in the day or is it best to feed on demand still??

my 7 week old DD was exactly like this

and she cluster fed from 5 - 9 ish every evening almost non stop with the odd 10 minute nap on my lap

3 - 4 hours at night is good at this age

DD2 is 8 weeks old today and feeds every 3-ish hours from 7am - 7pm. She generally feeds at night around 1am and 4am. I think I'm quite lucky, though . DD1 fed much like you've described.

normal, sounds like my 8wo, except I can usually get an hour nap out of mine morning and afternoon (usu in pram or sling)

best to keep going on demand

Thanks all, good to know that its normal!

My first dd would sleep loads in the day but wasnt great at night. I suppose I should be grateful that dd2 is great at night!

My 7 week old usually feeds at around 3am and 6am then again at 9ish...

After that it is around every 2 to 3 hours during the day and she cluster feeds in the evening until we all go to bed at 10.30ish.

Ah, DP has just bought her downstairs for a feed right now (they were napping together as he's rather jetlagged).

My 6 week old was feeding 2 hourly during the day then going 5-6 hours at night last week but all has gone pear shaped now she's fed 1-2 hourly since thursday!!! I think I might die of exhaustion.
