8 week BF bub now projectile vomiting

Hello,

Just looking for some reasons why a BF bub would suddenly start projectile vomiting?

A bit of background - DS is 8 weeks old and since Thursday has been projectile vomiting probably every other feed. He is 5.8kg and settling to sleep for a few hours between feeds, usually feeds 4 hourly with one 6 hour stretch overnight.

He had his 8 week vaccinations on Thursday, the day all this started. On Thursday night he had a fever of 39 so I took him to the out of hours doctor who checked nose, throat, ears etc and all are clear. The fever had gone by Friday morning but the vomiting has remained.

The only other different thing is that he has a much quieter cry than normal, again since Thursday.

Currently he has no other signs of fever or illness and is alert when he is awake. The projectile vomits don't seem to bother him, he just gags and up everything comes.

I will be phoning our own GP in the morning just to get him checked over again but was looking for some ideas as to why he would suddenly start vomiting so much, neither of my BF DD's did it.

Might be reflux and the fever may have been a coincidence. Either way getting checked out by the GP is the way to go.

If it's proper projectile vomiting eg reaching across the room it may be Pyloric Stenosis. GP will be able to diagnose or send for further testing.
