Blue nipples

Help - have been expressing on an evening after DD goes to bed. The last few nights my nipples have been blue/purple after I have finished!

Can't really say it hurts to express but it is not exactly comfortable.

Have never noticed this after feeding DD directly.

Have a Philips Avent electric pump.

Any ideas what could be causing it?

No more than 10 miinutes. When I switched sides last night I noticed that my nipple was blue so stopped after a couple of minutes on the other side to check and it was blue then.
