Breastfeeding with Teeth! Please help!

Hi all! DD has just had two teeth come through. [excited emoticon] which is great, except that she has started to bite me when breastfeeding. The teeth are sharp and they really hurt. It can't be much fun for her either as I shriek loudly (and involuntarily) when it happens and pull my breast away.

I know there are lots of you who do extended breastfeeding and whose children must have teeth - could some of you please take pity on me and tell me what you did/how you got through it and above all, how you got your baby to stop doing it? Thank you very much.

When she bites you, put a finger firmly in her mouth, prise her off the boob and put her down. After a couple of times she'll soon work out that biting is a bad idea.

Just make sure you always have a clean finger ready.

DD did this too. When she did it I just told her No! and stopped feeding her.
She soon got the message

Thank you - it is nice to know that it doesn't last for long and that she;ll learn not to do it.
