Typing whilst bf'ing so sorry for any typos!

DS is 9 weeks and generally wants a feed every 3 hours and at least once a day only manages about 2-2.5 hours. He sleeps from 11-6 overnight with no feeds.

My question is, if DS goes over 3 hours (which he often does if hes been out in the pram getting fresh air!), how long before I wake to feed him? I haven't let him go more then 4.5 hours so far, as worried too much day sleep will effect night sleep!

I never woke to feed at this age with either of mine Was enjoying the break too much!

However I soothed them to almost asleep on boob and then lay down often, so they had a cheeky top up before sleep often

Sounds lovely to have a baby who sleeps well x

With all 3 of mine I never let them go more than about 3.5 or max 4 hours during the day and would always wake them to feed if it got to that. I'm a great believer in getting enough feeds into them during the day so that they sleep better at night and don't wake to feed at night so much - mine all slept v well at night and I do think that regular feeding in the day helped that.

I only woke DD1 when she was very little as she was quite small and would happily have slept all day. Once she'd put on weight (and with DD2 who is a milk monster!) I'd just grateful for the rest to be honest
