I have to confess that i am in an utter mess with DD2s feeding. She is 7mo and until about 10 days ago, was excl bf; she would take a bottle of ebm fine. 10 days ago, i started to give her formula at dream feed time as i am going back to work in a few weeks and she will hopefully be mix fed; she took a couple of ounces each time but not much. she's never been a sleeper but it then got worse. a week ago, she became ill, temp, drowsy, lots of visits to.by dr, eventually came out as a cough and a cold.

now, she will only feed a bit during the day, reject the formula outright, is starting to refuse bottles of ebm and has terrific wind at night..

do i go back to excl bf for a few days until she is properly better? do i change the brand of formula? offer water in a bottle as she wont take a cup v well? stop bf all together and waot until she had to take formula?

sorry so long, really stressed and havent slept for days due to both being unwell

She is probably feeling a bit under the weather still if it has only been a week since she became unwell, and viral illnesses often affect a baby's gut and digestion (e.g. they quite often get sickness and diarrhoea and reduced appetite).
It sounds like she wants the comfort of bf at the moment; I would go back to eBF for a few days, then maybe offer the bottle again in a few days time. doesn't sound like a good time to force her into formula by stopping BF.
Wouldn't have thought worth changing the brand of formula at this stage.

thank you bunny - i suppose maybe i'm clutching at straws re formula brands.I guess i just can't see an end in sight to the sleepless nights.Disn't know digestion could be upset by virus but she has been so windy, it'd make sense. her poo has been a bit sort of mucus-y as well, as though her snot had made it through to her bum!
