Not sure if this should be in the "news" section or here...

Anyway, I saw this article and thought it was quite interesting. I too had some frozen breastmilk left over after I stopped breastfeeding DS at 14 mths. But I didn't think of making it into a cheese. I can't imagine I would have found many takers to try it...

I used to make white sauce with it for my pfb. It is not really stable enough to cook with (at least mine wasn't)

If you'd made white sauce with it for other members of your family, would they have eaten it?

I am pretty sure mine wouldn't have - and it is interesting - why are we so squeamish about it when it's what we feed our pfbs and when we drink cow's milk all the time?

I'd have a go, some people are funny about goats cheese and sheep cheese, a few of my friends only like cheese cheese(as they say).

Its strange how we have become so accepting oof cow's dairy products, and everything else seems odd.

I told my BF group we should have a breastmilk cheese tasteing day to get publicity.

this is interesting. I had tried to make cheese from mine ages ago, bt I discovered that you can't do it, as it doesn't contain enough protein to be turned into cheese. I suppose the addition of animal milk and yoghurt offers the extra protein needed, but then, is this really breastmilk cheese?

I thought you were talking about what dd pukes up all day every day, LOL.
