Reading the post about CBC and people questioning paying counsellors I just wondered if this organisation is reputable?

I had some problems feeding my previous babies and have been in email contact with a lady from here and who I was planning on arranging to come over for a home visit once my baby arrives to help get BF off to a good start.

I know that NCT and LLL have counsellors but I don't mind paying to ensure I get someone asap but I won't if they are unlikely to give sound advice as my only aim is to EBF directly for as long as possible.

I don't know the charges of CBC etc but this is £130 for a 2 hour session plus 5 follow up phone calls which seemed ok to me but not if it's unlikely to be good advice.

They are lactation consultants, not counsellors.

There are some who are very good indeed, but the qualification is not a guarantee.Nor is any, to be honest.

yes that's the one. Sorry, got my terms muddled up but I just wanted to check that in general it's a reputable qualification. I've been in email contact with this lady and she seems lovely but obviously I won't know for sure until / if I meet her. A friend has suggested someone who hasn't had any children who is a popular lactation consultant but am really not sure that I'm happy to go with someone who has never BF herself.

We don't have any LLL or BFN in my area and NCT BF is very scant. I've found a BF group in a childrens centre about 5 miles away and that's all I can get my hands on despite spending hours researching and I know from previous experience that i could really do with some one on one help
