Aspirin & breast feeding

Was advised by GP on monday to gargle & swallow soluble aspirin for very sore throat which had left me barely able to talk or eat. So I have been doing this all week. Throat is a bit better but still having trouble eating & speaking.

Yesterday afternoon/evening & this afternoon my 9m baby was lethargic & not interested in eating. He may just have the same virus as me but I also started to worry that the aspirin may be having a bad effect on him. Having looked on internet to find out possible side effects but just found that all the sites basically said DON'T.

Not impressed with my GP. My baby was sat on my knee during consulation & she had seen me feeding him during the long wait when she came out to get other patients.

Now stopped but still suffering. Any advice on what I can take for raw throat & earache while breast feeding. Also any other signs I should look out for in my baby?

Gargle warm salty water. Take paracetemol. Complain about GP. Ring nhsdirect about baby.

Sorry you're having a rough week.
