Hi, quick history. I have 4 week old twins, born 6 weeks early and spent 3 weeks in SCBU. Have had them home now for 10 days. born at 3 and 4 lbs now 4 and 5 lbs. Exclusively breast feeding and going really well, they wake every 3 - 4 hours to feed then sleep in between. Larger baby has recently (last couple of days) not been latching on very well, really fussing around, swinging head from side to side until eventually latching on. sometimes takes 15 or more mins to get her to latch, always succeed eventually. This evening has been particularly bad, until she has become slightly hysterical, screaming and shaking head, trying to suck but obviously nipple not comfy in her mouth because she just wont suck! Have eventually expressed 50ml and put in bottle (something we were planning to try at some point) and she took straight away and wolfed it down. then managed to get her to latch on for about 5 mins. 2 questions - any tips on the latching on problem and how much to feed her in a bottle? She last fed at about 8pm on the breast but not a full feed and then the 50ml in bottle and 5 mins on breast about 20 mins ago. MAny thanks and sorry for bad typing am v tired and trying not to be stressed!z

Hey, z & z, you really are doing great! I've got no advice for you on the bottles because i've always been too lazy to go that route Someone will have the info you need.
The only way I suceed in getting my troope out on time is by prepping a day bag the night before, with everything in it I need and 30mins before leaving time its feed wind bumchange GO! and ignore the washing up if its not done going out is more important!

I know 4 under 6 is not the same as twins (obviously ) but the prepping stuff really helped me!
Hope you get the insurance sorted! Keep it up you're doing great!

How you doing darling? I'm just off to bed, but thought I'd pop by first.

Thanks both. Kitkat, 'feed, wind, bumchange GO'! I like it, I'll be there one day, maybe not too distant future. 4 under 6 has got to be fairly challenging!

Mars thanks for asking again. Things still going well, normally both latching well, although we still have our moments. If we are really having a moment then they get a bottle of expressed breast milk although this is only happening every few days.

I got two mothers day cards today
These babies are IVF and we waited 4 years for them so today is fairly special.

Happy mothers day all x
