DS is 5 months old, and has always been a poor sleeper, but over the past few weeks we'd got him down to 2 or 3 feeds a night, and on 3 occasions just 1 feed! However, this past week, he's been waking every hour at least, and screaming the place down until he gets fed. I feed him until he falls asleep enough to go back in his (bedside) cot, so sometimes both sides offered, sometimes not. I'm not having him in our bed again, as he flings his arms out and either tickles us, or thumps us with his huge great man-hands. He's also started moaning from behind his dummy as he falls asleep - cute initially; tiresome now.

He has had very green nappies the past 3 days, and was very grumpy friday/saturday, but is otherwise in fine spirits.

Not sure if he's just been sickening for something, is teething, or has got bored with his 6-9 month clothes already and plotting to outgrow them.

I just want one night of sleep before he turns 1...

Hmm - i would say growth spurt/teething

DD had a night like this last week - I was up every hour or so with her ...

anyhow, i have got a wee bit tougher - she woke the other night at 9.30 pm after a mega feed at 7 ish and i didn't feed her

i patted her bum, soothed her and big kiss and cuddle and back into bed ... she slept until 22.45 pm

could you try something like that? If he is hungry, he will let you know!

my DD is still waking 3 hourly - am praying that solids will make a differnce

if not, i am leaving her with DH for a weekend for him to sort

I've just been through exactly that last week (he's 18weeks). Green nappies and a bit grumpy For 3 nights my little lad woke every hour and demanded to be fed - really cried like the world was ending. On the 4th night I had him in bed with me and he was latched on most of the night (I can't sleep like that). On the 5th night I felt his crys weren't so heart felt so every other time he woke I didn't feed him - didn't pick nim up - just put my hand on his chest, put a dummy in his mouth if he wanted it to calm down and then left him to cry for a minute - put my hand back on his chest 'till he calmed and repeated that until he slept (only took about 10 mins) He's now back to going to bed at 8 then wakes at 12, 3, 5:30, 7

I think it was a growth spurt and then he just got out of his rhythm
