As harry hill would say "which is best? There's only one way to find out... FIGHT!"

can't decide which to use for ds.

how old is he? over 1yr then cows milk and a varied and healthy diet

why waste your money on something he doesnt need, just a marketing ploy in my opinion

Ds is nearly a year so I'm just starting to think about what to do.

What does toddler milk have that cows milk does not? Why would the formula companies say it's best?

Why would they say it is best? Um, because they make money, that's why!

DOn't waste your money unless your son has special dietary needs. If he eats a reasonable variety of foods he doesn't need over-priced toddler milk.

nickytwotimes · 28/02/2010 20:01

Oh, adn it is high in iron - but he will get plenty from his diet if he eats some greenery every now and again.

DOn't fall for the marketing shite.

ANd enjoy no longer having to make up formula. It's fab!

Its the preschool version of chopped up courgettes or grated cheese.

And it fills them up so much that they can stop eating lots of food thus needing more stupid toddler milk. What a con.

nannynick · 28/02/2010 20:17

If breastfeeding, you could always just continue doing that.

If bottle feeding, use up supplies of formula you have, when it starts getting low, introduce cows milk and use up the remaining formula by giving him one beaker/bottle of that a day.

I am using toddler milk for my 3rd. I used cows milk at this age (1 year) for the others but when I introduced the cows milk this time it was followed by sickness, upset tummy and general miserableness!. The toddler milk doesnt do this for some reason (no idea why) I decided to keep on this for a few month and try the cows milk again when she is a little older.
