Green poo

Remind me what does green poo in bf baby mean. Ds 3wks is having bright yellow poos mixed with green ones.

Can mean nothing, if not consistently green it is probably ok.

My DD is the same as this. Also 3 weeks and having either green or yellow poos. I assume it is ok as she is generally happy, alert, feeding well etc.

Well, I take her to bed at 10:30 and we have a long feed and go to sleep. She wakes two or three times in the night to feed (she is very good, I know I am lucky). I co-sleep so just lie next to her and doze while she feeds which is nice.

Durning the day I don't really notice a routine, I tend to just do what she wants me to do however I usually put her in her sling at about 11:00am because I need to do a bit of tidying up round the house and she always goes to sleep in her sling. She feeds loads, especially in the early evening and early afternoon - but often only for a couple of minutes at a time. Got some advice to keep swapping sides on another thread so I'm having a go at that tonight

How about you?

i was told yesterday by bf counsellor that green poo means baby not taking enough hind milk and so to reoffer same boob to encourage more down. Yellow/orange is best so if getting those should be ok...

That's very interesting because not getting enough hindmilk is something I have worried about due to DD's preference for fairly short feeds and also that she does seem to get bouts of indegestion which I read can be linked to getting too much foremilk.

that said, she appears to be piling on the weight and is getting more alert each day so I was trying not to get myself into a new mother anxiety panic .

I think I will mention it to the HV tomorrow though to get some reassurance.

My ds has a really similar nigh time routine to yours and unlike my dd who struggled to nap in day he seems to happy to be put down for nap at 10-1030. Just about to show him off to work.
